the serpent flirts with the apple - Fio Gede Parma

the serpent flirts with the apple

fallen to the dirt

home sweet home

the apple dreams in laughter language

and light winged fractal faces

glitter in the snake's diamond eyes

the mountains groan

remembering how legends eke

out their life's work

from the beginnings of a maybe sometime soon

and the myths

will always be the poems the earth

whispers to the sun

and the moon sings to the sea

it seems there is a great forgetting

and a great remembering

in the same time

in the same place

and the dragons and the desert dogs

have travelled far away

to other times in other places

the grim reaper exhausted

leans on saturn's own scythe

and the planets squeak on their orbits

and barely take joy

in their strange mirage medleys

shopping trolleys banked up

just like moons of giants

and yet

there will always be the sweet apples

in life

they will continue to be found

dreaming and laughing

in the precious dirt

so potent

holding for us

the entire world

we know

there will always be kissing

and holding of hands

there will always be tears

that water the gardens we call faces

there will be seas

bitter and strange

or common as stars

and swelling with life

who knew that the task

at hand

is not to make ourselves worthy of being here

or going there

but to take it all in

everything

as much as we surely can

and to offer back

only what we have

an apple

a kiss

a hand

and to say

i love -

x
