Everything kisses everything else -

Everything kisses everything else,

or else slashes, or stumbles -

like this knife I hold, cling to, grasp, wield

like this knife I hold over the smoke

like this myrrh turning me inside out

like this drum pressed against my thighs

as I beat rhythms made of memories.

Everything kisses everything else,

or else breaks against the shores

of what might come, to become -

like the god who comes

pressed against me, as I am,

my thighs now - instead of drumming -

liquored in the sweet cum

of the goat-horned bull-roaring god,

He is the one I never ask to come,

He is always coming.

Everything kisses everything else,

or else locks the door and swallows the key -

lucky for me the art of turning swallowed keys

into gold was passed to me in my mother's womb,

I've never had to wish for future lives,

I've never had to say to you, or may your weapons turn against you,

I've never had to ordain anything

because the mountain you cleaved

to grant me everything you have become

was so that I might be pared back

and remember Silence.
